Visa Requirements

If you hold an Afghan passport, you are required to obtain an eVisa or eTA to enter Japan.

Note: Visa requirements are determined by your nationality and the reason for your visit. Exceptions may arise based on the length of stay, specific conditions, or travel purpose.

Common Visa Types

Citizens of qualified countries may be able to travel to Japan without a visa. The most common types of Japan visas are the following.

  • Diplomatic or official visa
  • Transit visa
  • Tourist visa (within 90 days)
  • Visa for visiting relatives and acquaintances (within 90 days)
